Certificate of Achievement (Transcripted): Introduction to Dance - Level II Series

Below is a sample academic plan that shows you how you can complete your Certificate in a timely manner. Your path may look different depending on your circumstances?for example, if you attend part-time, choose to take Intersession or Summer courses, or have earned prior credit (Credit for Prior Learning, Dual Enrollment, Transfer Credit). You are required to meet with a counselor to set up a comprehensive education plan that is tailored to your individual circumstances and goals.

The Introduction to Dance - Level II Series prepares students to continue learning foundational skills in dance techniques in the genres of ballet, jazz, and modern dance. Additionally, training in choreography, commercial dance, hip-hop, musical theater, and performance repertory are offered. Required courses can be completed in one semester and students are encouraged to move to the next series, Introduction to Dance — Level III Series. The entire series, levels I-IV, will support students in completing the A.A. Degree in Dance, which prepares the student to audition for a four-year institutional dance program.

Continued demonstration of competency in the presentation of dance in public performances.

Demonstrate level II skills in dance techniques in the genres of ballet, jazz, and modern dance.

Demonstrate technical and performance skills in commercial-styled dance genres.

Develop fundamental skills in choreography.
