Certificate of Achievement (Transcripted): Introduction to Dance - Level I Series
Below is a sample academic plan that shows you how you can complete your Certificate in a timely manner. Your path may look different depending on your circumstances?for example, if you attend part-time, choose to take Intersession or Summer courses, or have earned prior credit (Credit for Prior Learning, Dual Enrollment, Transfer Credit). You are required to meet with a counselor to set up a comprehensive education plan that is tailored to your individual circumstances and goals.
The Certificate of Achievement, Dance - Level I Series prepares students to learn foundational skills in dance techniques in the genres of ballet, jazz, and modern dance. Additionally, training in performance repertory and dance production are offered. Study of the history of classical and contemporary dance forms is also included. Required courses can be completed in one semester and students are encouraged to move to the next series, Certificate of Achievement, Dance — Level II. The entire series, levels I-IV, will support students in completing the A.A. Degree in Dance, which prepares the student to audition to a four-year institutional dance program.
