A.S. Degree: Mopar Automotive Technician
Below is a sample academic plan that shows you how you can complete your Associate's Degree in two years. Your path may look different depending on your circumstances?for example, if you attend part-time, choose to take Intersession or Summer courses, or have earned prior credit (Credit for Prior Learning, Dual Enrollment, Transfer Credit). The plan includes four semesters, each with an average course load of 15 units, and follows the Plan 1 General Education pattern. You are required to meet with a counselor to set up a comprehensive education plan that is tailored to your individual circumstances and goals.
The Mopar Automotive Technician Associate of Science degree is designed to prepare students for employment at a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram dealership. Technical instruction includes lecture and lab experiences in a specific Mopar content which focuses on Mopar concepts such as electrical circuits, gasoline engine repair, suspension, steering, tires, alignment, brakes, transmissions, diesel engines, engine diagnostics, high voltage systems, air conditioning, heating, and work experience at a Mopar dealership. Students will be prepared for employment at a Mopar dealership as an entry-level technician, lube technician, or apprentice. This degree requires the completion of general education in addition to automotive courses. Students are required to complete 12 units of AUTO-299, Automotive Work Experience (repeatable course) as part of the degree.
